# Data mining algorithms with Dejan Sarka

After more than a year, I had the pleasure attending another of Dejan Sarkas courses. This time it was his one day tour-de-force on data mining algorithms, with examples in SSAS multidimensional, Excel, R and AzureML.

I have previously written about why I like Dejan Sarkas teaching style. He has this good tendency to remember the why and not just directly dive into the how. I guess that's also why his course is called "Data Mining *Algorithms* in SSAS, Excel, R,and Azure ML."

The course touches a lot of ground, among others:

Decision trees

Clustering

Association rules

Principal Component Analysis

Un-supervised learning with neural networks

Multiple Linear Regression

Logistic Regression

Support Vector Machines

Time series

As always with Dejan Sarka, my head starts to hurt in the end of the day. Personally, I had to leave during the time series part, because I needed to prepare for being responsible for the Effektor sponsor table the next day. But I think my brain would have denied access anyway at that time of the day.

I can only recommed Dejan Sarkas course for every data professional working with data, analysis, BI and related topics on the Microsoft technology stack.
